A Fishing Guide's 911 Call Saves an Entangled Manatee as Her Calf Watches

A Florida fishing guide spotted a manatee tangled in line and called 911, setting off a rescue that unfolded with her calf circling nearby. Wildlife officers cut the gear free and released the animal on the spot. Entanglement remains one of the most common human-caused injuries for the species.
