Fluorescent Probes Offer a Sharper View of Plant Tissues

A new set of fluorescent probes lets researchers image plant tissues at higher contrast without damaging live samples. The dyes bind selectively to cell wall components that were previously hard to distinguish. The tools should aid work on crop stress and development.
