One Fossil Shows a Three-Way Prehistoric Food Chain
A single fossil preserves a pterosaur eaten by an ichthyosaur that was then eaten by a pliosaur, capturing the top third of the Cretaceous marine food chain in one moment. One researcher called it a three-way chompfest.
