Wife of Indiana Congressman Jim Baird Dies From Injuries Sustained in January Hit-and-Run

Danise Baird, the wife of Indiana Republican Congressman Jim Baird, died Sunday from injuries she sustained in a hit-and-run crash in January, the congressman's office announced. The death comes roughly two months after the accident that left Mrs. Baird with injuries from which she never recovered. Representative Baird, who has served Indiana's 4th Congressional District since 2019, is a Purple Heart recipient and Vietnam War veteran who has now suffered the devastating loss of his life partner.
