AI Agents Follow the Majority Even When the Majority Means Nothing

A study in Science Advances found that AI agents shift their choices toward the majority view of other agents, and that more advanced models conform more strongly. The effect persisted even when the peer opinions were meaningless. The authors warn about cascading errors in multi-agent systems.
