Anthropic Staff Chats Praising Piracy Are Cited in Sony's Lawsuit

Internal Anthropic chat messages in which employees praised a pirated book repository have been cited in a lawsuit brought by Sony. The filings use the messages to argue the company knew the provenance of training material. Anthropic has contested the characterization of its data practices in earlier cases.
