The red bluffs of Western Australia's Yilgarn Craton look Martian, and researchers found the resemblance runs deeper: the region shares geological traits with lakes in Mars' Terra Sirenum. The comparison gives scientists a terrestrial analogue for reconstructing ancient Martian water systems.
