Experimental catalyst supports 500 zinc-air battery cycles

Tech Xplore reports that TU Darmstadt researchers tested an iron-nickel-carbon catalyst that supported up to 500 charge and discharge cycles in a zinc-air battery. Rechargeability is a key challenge for this chemistry. The materials experiment does not establish a commercial product, real-world lifespan or manufacturing cost advantage.
