Father and Son Honored for Rescue From Burning Car

Larry Pickett Sr and his son, Army cadet Larry Pickett Jr, have been recognized for pulling a driver from a wrecked car before it burst into flames. The rescue took place near Fort Montgomery, New York, in August 2025. The new recognition includes the Carnegie medal for heroism, according to The Guardian.
