Jay Clayton Is Sworn In as Director of National Intelligence

Jay Clayton has been sworn in as the nation's top spy after a contentious Senate confirmation hearing in which he declined to directly answer several questions about the intelligence community's past assessments. He replaces acting director Bill Pulte at the head of the U.S. intelligence agencies. Clayton, a former securities regulator, takes over a portfolio dominated by the Iran conflict and by internal fights over politicization of analysis.
