Lifeway survey finds pastors’ sermons lengthened modestly
Lifeway’s 2025 survey found the share of Protestant pastors reporting sermons under 40 minutes fell from 85% in 2019 to 80%, The Christian Post reports. A separate churchgoer survey found 56% preferred their pastor’s usual length and 25% wanted shorter sermons. These are self-reported preferences, not measures of sermon quality.
