Mirror-Image Molecules Steer Electron Spins and Lift Solar Cell Efficiency

via Phys.org·2h ago

Scientists used chiral, mirror-image molecules to control electron spin inside perovskite solar cells and raise their efficiency. The spin selectivity reduces losses that normally occur as charge carriers move through the material. The approach adds a new lever for tuning next-generation photovoltaics.
