Ratko Mladic, the Bosnian Serb Commander Convicted of Genocide, Dies at 84
Ratko Mladic, the Bosnian Serb military commander sentenced to life in prison in 2017 for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, has died at 84. He led forces responsible for the 1995 Srebrenica massacre and the siege of Sarajevo during the wars in the former Yugoslavia. He spent his final years in detention after being convicted at the international tribunal in The Hague.
