Registry hijacks yield unauthorized certificates for Google domains

Attackers altered DNS records after hijacking three country-code registries and obtained unauthorized HTTPS certificates for Google and other services, Google and Ars Technica report. Chrome blocked identified certificates and Google’s certificates were revoked. Google says its systems were not compromised; the full scope and other affected organizations remain undisclosed.
