Sanctuary Surgery Restores Sight to 54-Year-Old Chimpanzee

A 54-year-old chimpanzee named Pierre regained functional sight after cataract surgery at Chimp Haven. It was the sanctuary’s first cataract operation on a resident, according to Good News Network. Pierre began reconnecting with caretakers, other chimpanzees and familiar activities after the procedure.
