Scott Pace was elected to succeed Daniel Akin as president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, leading one of the SBC's flagship institutions. Pace pledged stewardship 'by God's grace' as the denomination works through theological and generational shifts. Akin is retiring after more than two decades at the helm.
