South Africa orders women’s safety audits after killings

President Cyril Ramaphosa ordered municipal safety audits after 12 women’s bodies were found east of Johannesburg over two months, the BBC reports. The measures target hazards including broken streetlights, abandoned buildings and unsafe transport routes. Four arrests have been made, but police have not established that the killings were committed by one person.
