Study finds sales pitches in many women’s health Instagram posts

Researchers examining 472 Instagram posts under #womenshealth found that 39% directly sold a product or service, while only 7% referred to scientific evidence. In their account published by The Conversation and Phys.org, the authors warn that advertising and health information can blur together. The study did not test whether individual claims were accurate or represent all Instagram content.
