Treasury proposed rules for a federal K–12 scholarship tax credit starting in 2027, the Washington Examiner reports. Donors to eligible scholarship organizations could receive nonrefundable credits of up to $1,700 per individual or $3,400 for joint filers. The credit goes to donors; students receive scholarships in participating states. The regulations are proposed and have not been finalized.
