Expanded reaction model improves carbon-dioxide conversion predictions

Indian Institute of Science researchers mapped 9,389 reactions on a copper catalyst using computation and machine learning, Phys.org reports. Their expanded model better matched experimental methanol and carbon-monoxide production than a smaller reaction network. The work may guide catalyst design; it does not establish a commercial fuel process.
