New framework maps light-pollution risk in European seas

University of Plymouth researchers developed a framework combining coastal lighting and water clarity to assess marine light-pollution exposure, Phys.org reports. It places the Adriatic, Baltic and western Mediterranean at greatest modeled risk. The assessment identifies exposure priorities and policy gaps; it does not measure identical biological harm at every site.
