Fremont opens city hiring to homeschool graduates

Fremont, Nebraska’s city council voted 8–0 to recognize lawful homeschool graduation certificates in its hiring policy, The Christian Post reports. The change follows volunteer firefighter Andrew Coates’ exclusion from consideration for a paid position under rules requiring an accredited diploma or GED. The vote removes that educational barrier; it does not announce his appointment to a full-time job.
