Lab nanosensors convert water pressure into fluorescence

via Phys.org·10h ago

Institute of Science Tokyo researchers developed nanoscale vesicles whose fluorescence changes with water pressure, according to their report on Phys.org. Adjusting membrane stiffness changes sensitivity and the optical readout. The laboratory platform could aid microscopic pressure measurements, but practical biological and ocean applications are not demonstrated here.
