Microbial DNA research yields candidates for laboratory cancer tests

via Phys.org·5h ago

Researchers reconstructed potential compound-making pathways from fragmented microbial DNA and synthesized six candidates, the American Society for Microbiology reports through Phys.org. Tests across seven cancer cell lines found differing activity, with two compounds standing out. The work offers leads for further experiments; it has not demonstrated a safe or effective cancer treatment in animals or people.
