Kansas study finds early gains at shared school and nursing home

Kansas State researchers studying Logan’s connected elementary school and nursing home report encouraging results after a year of data collection, in an account published by Phys.org. Among 30 residents assessed twice, depression symptoms fell and independence increased while cognition stayed stable. Children also showed gains in development and test scores. These preliminary observations do not establish that the shared facility caused the improvements.
