via Phys.org·19h ago·2 sources

University of Osaka researchers used electrical measurements across gold nanogaps to distinguish mirror-image amino acids in meteorite and desert-soil extracts, their Phys.org report says. The tested setup exceeded 80% classification accuracy. It is a prospective compact analysis method; the experiment did not detect extraterrestrial life or validate a space instrument.
