Study tests mental accounting across 21 countries
A study of 5,589 people in 21 countries found evidence that people value money differently depending on its source and spending context, Phys.org reports. Mental-accounting effects were weaker in lower-income countries and varied by scenario. The findings come from an online survey, rather than direct observation of every participant’s real purchases.
