VMware survey links search for alternatives to licensing costs

Ninety percent of 300 VMware-using organizations surveyed said higher licensing costs drove them to explore alternatives, Ars Technica reports. Respondents also cited migration complexity and security concerns. The survey was conducted by Unisphere for Rimini Street, a support vendor with a commercial stake in the market; it is not a census of all VMware customers.
